Why: This race was started as a way to raise funds for the DUO (Do Unto Others) program. All profits from the race will be donated directly to the DUO program. This program raises money to provide pre-paid Visa gift cards to the principals of the public schools of Santa Rosa County. The principals then use these funds to meet the severe, immediate needs of students and their families who are going through financial hardship. DUO dollars have provided needy students with shoes, jackets, eyeglasses, and more.
Where: The race will take place at Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center (8974 Tomahawk Landing Rd Milton, Fl 32570).
When: The 5k run and walk will both start promptly at 8:00 A.M. on March 23, 2024. Packet pick-up will be available the Friday before the race, March 22, at Rhodes Elementary (5563 Byrom St Milton, FL 32570) from 4 to 6 P.M. as well as the day of the race starting at 7:00 A.M. Packet pick-up will be open up to the start of the race, however, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to race time. Registration will be open up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the race.
The Course: The race will start and end at, “The Lawn” at Adventures Unlimited. It snakes through unique and fun wooded trails that offer a variety of rugged terrain and gorgeous scenery. The course contains roots, possible mud, and uneven terrain.
Post-race: There will be water, sports drinks, energy bars, and cookies at the finish line as well as access to live results. Awards will follow soon after.
Awards: The 5K walk will have awards for the overall male and female winners. The 5K Run will have top 3 overall male and female awards as well as top 3 male and female awards in the following categories, 1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70- 74, 75 and up.
